futurebird's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- birth vs. decay Birth is simple. Something new and clean emerges from an older husk. Something smooth and light pushes its way out of the darkness. I suppose I could have included the period of gestation swelling development in my story of birth but even then it is relatively simple compare to death and decay. Decay fascinates me. First comes rot. The body is consumed by other organisms any reaming energy held in the order of the cells is spent. Then the dry spell begins. The last moisture is sucked out by the air and, at last the wind picks up the dust and carries it to other purposes. Birth: Pop! its there: another problem for entropy to solve -- but with decay, well there you have stages. Something to think about! 20:11:53 - 2000-12-07 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
