the MTA strikes back

59th street subway station's newstand has deco style and nothing worth reading.

Its very odd. I can hear birds chirping, starlings, it feels like spring, but outside it's much colder. R is on the couch in his ugly slippers listening to NPR. Bloomberg is telling us what to do if there's a transit strike. I hope there is a transit strike. People like bloomberg simply don't realize how important the subways and buses are to the city. Maybe if there was a strike they'd take notice.

He's so arrogant, he acts like he doesn't care if they strike or not. I hope it's a bluff, he can't be that clueless... Well, it is mostly poor people from the Bronx and Brooklyn and queens and such who will pay the price. No wonder Bloomberg isn't paying attention. The express trains from Harlem and the Bronx are always packed, the stations have no benches and stink-- but these are the stations for the people who need the subway the most.

Well, I'm off to work. Hope the trains are running.
