a madman wrapped in a red blanket
I feel like things are starting to come together again. I go through cycles in my life where I at first feel on top of everything, then I put a few things off and next thing I know I�m behind all the deadlines again. I was under a cloud last week, but I�m out again now and I owe it all to trying not to do everything at once.
For example I could have cleaned my whole apartment on Monday night. But I didn�t. I just did the laundry and the dish. Then the next day I swept the floor and sorted the books. Then today I did the dish again. (I only have one dirty dish, but I hate to wash it, you see, so I call that �doing the dish�) and rinsed the running shorts. The place feels clean again and I�m not too worn out. I�d like to try to keep this up. Need to think of ways to keep from getting bored with it.
I want to give selling my drawings another go this weekend, however first I must find some kind of stand for them. I have a new set that I�ve done about current events (based on newspaper photos) and I�m excited to see if anyone likes them. (I�ll scan a few soon)
My favorite one is of a madman wrapped in a red blanket because he was streaking at the US open. The photo caught my eye since it was so much like some old painting I�ve seen, (can remember which one, but a nude male figure swaddled in red with several escorts� grrr what was it?) and yet modern with the TV crew and wires and uniforms in the background. And the theme of hiding the naked body, the horror that we experience when seeing the naked creature, the rush to cover it up, the whole thing resonated with me.
Maybe I won�t try to sell that one.
